Retirees in Deming go to Palomas, Chihuahua for meds and dental work. There's a touristy store there with a great Mexican restaurant. I was probably the only courier in the U.S. eating lunch in Mexico. Did that several times.

That RV park is about 3 miles south of Deming, NM. By Interstate 10 it's over 90 miles from El Paso which sits across from Juarez.

Extremely hot? Deming sits at about 4400' elevation. Does get pretty hot in the summer but not Phoenix hot. And it's dry air. Super dry. Which means it takes until about 2 p.m. or so to build up into the 90's and once the sun goes down temps drop about 30 degrees or so. I think I saw it break 100° a few times. With air that dry you don't sweat. Being comfortable just takes standing in some shade.

How do I know? I was a domiciled courier in Deming. It's developed a bit since I was there. Has a Walmart, a multiplex theater, good selection of restaurants. And it's a fast 60 miles down I-10 to Las Cruces, which has everything.

50's at night is great for sleeping. 80° with less than 30% humidity is about perfect in the daytime.

I stumbled across this city, Posadas, Argentina, while researching Paraguay. It's across the Parana River from what many consider the nicest city in Paraguay, Encarnacion. It's about 400,000. Has a very nice riverfront. Found a lot of nice Airbnb rentals in Posadas, all inclusive for less than $500 a month. Saw a rental with verified fast internet of over 200 mb's. Has an airport for cheap flights to Buenos Aires. What struck me is the many trees it has. Get into the residential areas and it's very shady.

Posadas is in the far northeastern province of Misiones. Most of Argentina was settled from immigrants arriving at Buenos Aires then venturing outward. Misiones is unique in that most immigrants arrived from southern Brazil. Germans, Italians, Spanish, Swiss, Swedes, Danes, and others. There's a city of 50,000 not far away called Obera that celebrates its European heritage every year with 15 European countries represented in its parade.

At any rate wanted to show you can live decently in this part of the world. Posadas has a couple of multiplex theaters and an Imax theater. Has some very nice supermarkets. Mild winters. The guy who made this video has videos of a bunch of Argentine cities.
