The May 2019 report marks the 3rd time UPS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) has been named a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America.

UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced that, for the third time, its Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) unit has been named as a Leader in the May 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America1.

According to the report, “This Magic Quadrant evaluates 19 top North American 3PLs to demonstrate how they compare with each other across a variety of detailed criteria. These criteria are designed to define ‘what good looks like’ for logistics providers in the region based on capabilities, strategies, services and operating models that customers prefer when formulating their 3PL portfolios.”

UPS Launches First-Of-Its-Kind Women Exporters Program Workshops In The U.S.

UPS Brings The International Program To The U.S., Hosts Workshops And Mentoring Sessions At WBENC National Conference.

As part of its continuing efforts to create an inclusive business environment and growth opportunities for women, UPS (NYSE:UPS) has announced the launch of the Women Exporters Program workshops for U.S. businesses. The program will help women business owners and leaders to gain access to the vast global marketplace, comprising 95% of the world’s buyers.

In the U.S., there are nearly 12 million women-owned small businesses, yet women-owned businesses comprise just 12% of U.S. exporters. Providing training to enable small- and medium-sized businesses owned by women to export would help propel those companies onto the world stage. According to a McKinsey Global Institute report, “In a ‘full potential’ scenario in which women play an identical role in (global) labor markets to that of men, as much as $28 trillion, or 26 percent, could be added to global annual GDP by 2025.”

Charlene Thomas To Participate In Prestigious Program Hosted By The Secretary Of Defense

Thomas is among a select group chosen to engage with senior military officials and U.S. Service members in the Secretary of Defense’s Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC)

Charlene Thomas, recently-appointed UPS Chief Human Resources Officer, has been selected to participate in the 91st Joint Civilian Orientation Conference (JCOC 91) hosted by the Secretary of Defense. The conference is the oldest and most prestigious public outreach and full immersion program in the Department of Defense.

As a JCOC participant, Charlene Thomas will spend several days at the Pentagon and military installations, engaging with senior military officials and U.S. Service members. Thomas will gain a better understanding of the roles and mission of the U.S. Armed Forces; their skills, capabilities and equipment employed in defense of our nation. The JCOC program directly links to the Department’s Know Your Military (#KYM) initiative, which is designed to help close the growing civilian-military divide by educating the American public about their military.
