UPS Brings Commitment And Support To Pride Month

Commitments, grants, business empowerment and hands-on support among Pride Month and Diversity and Inclusion Activities.

UPS (NYSE: UPS) is continuing its support for the LGBTQ community, and UPS employees are volunteering their own time in more than a dozen pride celebrations. The company is also extending its global commitment to diversity and inclusion by confirming support for two new initiatives and continuing to drive progress through business and community efforts.

UPS’s support of the United Nations Global LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business demonstrates the organization’s alignment with the global standards designed to advance equality within corporations and across value chains. The areas addressed by the Standards include: Respect Human Rights, Eliminate Discrimination, Provide Support, Prevent Other Human Rights Violations, and Act in the Public Sphere.

Ten Business Owners Advance In The UPS Store Small Biz Challenge For A Chance At $25,000

Online Public Voting for Top Six Finalists Starts June 10

The UPS Store, Inc. and Inc. magazine have selected 10 semifinalists in the Small Biz Challenge, a nationwide contest that offers eligible small business owners a chance to win up to $25,000 and an editorial feature in Inc. magazine. From art therapy to on-the-go skin care, 10 entrepreneurs with unique businesses hailing from across the country need your vote.
The challenge aims to find small business owners who think they have what it takes to compete in a live business competition, testing the core skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur. The UPS Store is searching for the most quick-witted, well-rounded small business owners who can handle absolutely any ing that comes their way.

With more than 1,700 applications submitted online, 10 semifinalists are up for an online public vote now through June 30, 2019. Based in part on vote totals, the top six finalists will be announced Monday, July 1, 2019. The six entrepreneurs will split and three finalists will attend and compete in a Small Biz Challenge event, either in Los Angeles July 25, at NeueHouse in Hollywood or in New York City August 15, at the Cachet Boutique Hotel in midtown Manhattan.

UPS Appoints Charlene Thomas Chief Human Resources Officer, Announces Retirement Of Teri McClure

UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced the appointment of Charlene Thomas as Chief Human Resources Officer, effective July 1, and the retirement of Teri McClure. Charlene Thomas joins the UPS Management Committee, the company’s senior-most leadership group, and will report to UPS Chairman and CEO David Abney.

“Charlene’s vast and diverse experience throughout her 30-year career at UPS ensures that she will be well positioned to guide our transformation initiatives that focus on optimizing talent, leadership and culture,” said UPS Chairman and CEO, David Abney. “She will be instrumental in supporting and driving the execution of UPS’s enterprise strategy.”
