I am being strong armed to move to a different hub. I have been there longer than a few other sups. Do we work by seniority? If so can anyone show me in the direction of the actual bylaw in the UPS handbook?
So, HR has told us that the Tuesday-Saturday PT sups and FT specialists get an extra day off at some point when the holiday falls on a Monday, also known as an unscheduled day. This year, New Year's and Christmas fall on a Tuesday.
In our building, the T-S sups worked Monday (Christmas Eve)...
Hey guys, I'm interested in piercing my dimples for Christmas but I've been trying to become a supervisor for a few months, so I'm worried. I know that I won't be one for a good while, either through supervisors quitting or me switching my shift, but it's good information to have. Does the...
Hello Everyone,
-I am a new part-time sup hired off the street with management experienced. I have also worked in a union environment. I want to know what is important to you and how can I build a respectful relationship with you guys. Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance.
So I served 10 years in the military and decided I didnt want to subject myself and family to 10 more. I started working at UPS as a seasonal personal vehicle driver and got hired as pre load/utility after peak. They are offering me a PT supervisor position with the promice of getting hired on...

My full time supervisor told me he'd let me have the opportunity to switch from Preload to Sort/Unload/Loading Trailers. Loading is a bit weird for me but I'll get used to it. Unload and sort are cake. Where can I go from here though? Pt sort supervisor? What are my options for...

So a follow up to sucking at preloading. I still can't handle 4 package cars. Its draining the life out of me. I feel like I would be better doing unload or sort. A PT supervisor told me I wouldn't make book if I asked to work other than as a preloader, but another told me I should ask to be...
I am in my last year of my teacher certification program and will not be able to work during student teaching. I have no intentions of leaving UPS unless I absolutely have to. Is it possible to get a leave of absence from Late August to Mid May to finish up? Being a student who is looking to be...
alright, so up until the point where I was hired as a part-time supervisor I have never shaved my beard, but to get straight to the point , I got a doctors note. After getting my note I brought it to my gateway manager, and he tells me I would have to work the same position (part- time...
You're probably rolling your eyes because it seems like every PT worker come here to complain. I have a situation and I'm not sure how to handle it.
I work preload in a small town. Our building is pretty small. Just two belts for loading and one sort isle of maybe 5 workers. I have been in my...
Hey, I'm a pre-loader and I've been lurking this forum for about a month or so. I'm coming up for whether or not I get seniority next week. My supervisor says my biggest problem is that I have not really shown much progress regarding my PPH. It hovers somewhere from 120 to 170 (my highest)...
I'm curious though what are the shifts over there, and what days do they work. Please help me, I can not find no info online, and I was offered this last night all of a sudden by my manager. I'm a PT supervisor.
My ex is a PT Hub Supervisor in West Columbia, SC. He got the job because I took the test for him. I reported it, but apparently they are just taking his word, instead of testing him again. Any idea where I might report this? I know how much you loaders hate the PT Sups anyway....
So everybody I've asked at the Lexington hub has given me such a mixed variety of answers to this question that I am really unsure of who to believe. On the 3rd of December I passed the part-time supervisor test. Now I'm just simply waiting to be notified of when I get this position. How long...
I started at 11 an hour about 9 months ago, busting my butt the whole time and may be getting promoted to pt supervisor in January which is around 16 an hour.
my question is, when the minimum wage increases to 13 an hour, will supervisors get a pay increase too?
it almost seems like its not...
Sweet diggity, I'm a twilight package handler. I start next Wednesday and want to do a good job so I can maybe be kept on p/t in the future, and also to try and make the driver's and other handlers lives a bit easier.
What do you wish someone had told you before you started this position? Also...
I've been perusing the forums for a while now and I keep reading that the P-sup position only seems worthwhile if you're IN college looking to get a degree. Here's the catch for me though: I already HAVE a BA in History. Which I can't find a job with so now I'm stuck here (and I hate wording it...
Hi,
I started as a part-time supervisor back in May. I have a degree but I haven't been able to find a decent position. I was wondering what are the raises for part-time sup's? Are there any bonuses? You can obviously tell that my compensation at this position is very low. With a degree, can I...
