Lol, my thing is they already do have their volunteers! They've had interest lists up in my center for at least a week now. One sheet for M-friend willing to work Sat, and one sheet for T-Sat willing to work Monday. 2 columns on each. Both are absolutely filled, top to bottom and folks trying to squeeze their name in after the lines ran out. Then today I came in to find another piece of paper next to the completely filled-out interest lists saying that, starting the week ending on 11/25, all drivers are required to report Mon-Sat. I've gone out the past 4 days with ~150 stops on a route that typically goes out with two trucks, over 200 stops and roughly 400 pieces. It's all just super unnecessary, man, but if they want to breed contempt and sow dissension among the ranks then they're doing a bang-up job. Problem is, the union's getting lumped in with UPS now because this is one of the hills that most of us were prepared to die on when we voted over the summer. but again, it is what it is. I'll work what I'm told to work and grieve what I think needs grieving.
