Being appointed to life some Justices feel like they are no longer beholden to their political masters and can vote the law and consider societal implications. Consider Supreme Court decisions concerning  slavery in the 1800's compared to civil rights cases in the 1960's. Do you propose that the Supreme Court reinstates slavery based on the Constitution in the 18th centaury? Or that we not allow women the right to vote?</p></blockquote><p></p>
