I assume most of you saw the chart posted in another thread that attempted to define Whiteness Culture.
I read through the chart several times and through the page where it was posted twice.
Something bothered me the entire time I was reading it and then it clicked!
They were talking about AMERICAN VALUES AND CULTURE!
When a person immigrates to the United States of America they are expected to 'assimilate' into the American Values and Culture.

The Smithsonian American Chart

So we’ve been living with this whiteness stuff for a long, long time. When I was in school, America was described as a "melting pot". We come together as the greatest culture on earth.

Now, these idiot liberals have changed it to a "salad bowl". We refuse to assimilate and focus on our differences.

We were taught the patchwork quilt theory.
I don't have a problem with maintaining some sort of national origin identity within communities, families, etc. But for a country to function we have to have an overarching culture that solidifies us as a nation of people who have shared interests and are willing to fight as one to defend those interests. If one set of values has become dominant among all sets of values, it is because that set of values works better than the others. Those are the values that should be integrated as the overarching "American Values".

Nationalism is talked about by the forced narrative media (should not be referred to as mainstream any more) as though it were evil. But the alternative to nationalism is globalism. So, I'll keep my nationalism, thank you very much.

I don't see the USA as a 'Melting Pot' where everyone assimilates into one common culture.
In fact, in my travels across the USA I have seen and enjoyed a great diversity in culture.
I believe that the 'Melting Pot' is more focused on American Values rather than a American Culture.
Look at the values espoused in the chart in post 1 of this thread ... those are American Values.

Socialism is the opposite of American Values and that is why AOC says we must teardown and rebuild the "system".


I like this chart better than the one DIDO posted in post #4 because it has the Melting Pot as American whilst ...

the Salad Bowl as a representation of UK society.​

I was in UK for a time and I never got comfortable with different 'districts' with their own culture and values.
It is a useful comparison in which America is vastly superior IMO.

If you lower the bar enough everybody is inclusive and equal. What happens when somebody comes along and has extraordinary abilities in any field, what would we as a society do them?

I remember several years ago we had a security guard who to wanted to pick up a package at the counter, out of the blue she quoted the tracking number without even thinking about it. I asked her how she did it, she just stated that she has always been that way, photographic memory. Would it not be fair to say she was more potential that most of the 2%'s on these corporate boards. The way things are in our culture..the cream sometimes never gets to the top and we get feed milk instead of meat, and end up liking it.

We should have assimilated them instead of killing and transporting them but that's ancient history.
Another example of a group of people that did not assimilate to the American way.
Many of them wanted to continue to be hunter/gatherers instead of agrarian.

A photographic memory is good for gambling but without experience and good judgment, it is little more than a curiosity, as in Rain Man.
