The violations and threats have been coming for a long time.
If there is no appeal to the standard and blatant rejections of it are common, start the clock.
Doom and gloom? Nope. But, don't deny the writing that's on the wall.

There will be nothing left to take over.
The historical pattern of countries that have been taken over by socialist/commies is being unfolded right before our eyes.
Anything that even smells like Jan. 6th will be silenced immediately now. The right will continue to sit on their hands and bend over.
The left is ahead.

A strong majority of Americans feel like they're living under a gun that'll go off if they even say the "wrong" thing right now. I feel that way myself.

The Democrats will pay for it dearly at the polls next year and in 2024. Maybe that's not yet so clear because so many people are afraid to say anything about anything the way we fairly anonymously can here.

https://www.cato.org/survey-reports...itical-views-theyre-afraid-share#introduction

"A new Cato national survey finds that self‐censorship is on the rise in the United States. Nearly two-thirds—62%—of Americans say the political climate these days prevents them from saying things they believe because others might find them offensive. The share of Americans who self‐censor has risen several points since 2017 when 58% of Americans agreed with this statement.

These fears cross partisan lines. Majorities of Democrats (52%), independents (59%) and Republicans (77%) all agree they have political opinions they are afraid to share.

Strong liberals stand out, however, as the only political group who feel they can express themselves. Nearly 6 in 10 (58%) of staunch liberals feel they can say what they believe. However, centrist liberals feel differently. A slim majority (52%) of liberals feel they have to self‐censor, as do 64% of moderates, and 77% of conservatives. This demonstrates that political expression is an issue that divides the Democratic coalition between centrist Democrats and their left flank."

What’s changed? In 2017 most centrist liberals felt confident (54%) they could express their views. However today, slightly less than half (48%) feel the same. The share who feel they cannot be open increased 7 points from 45% in 2017 to 52% today. In fact, there have been shifts across the board, where more people among all political groups feel they are walking on eggshells."

You might be part of the problem yourself, mister "silence is violence". Equating speech or lack thereof to violence is probably one of the biggest contributing factors to this problem today.

Especially when the expectation is that you don't say the things leftists don't want you to, and must say the things leftists support. Only two ways to win with leftists, and one is to agree with them.

Patricia thinks his views represent a grass roots effort to return power to the people, that the communists during the "red scare" era were the good guys. All that situation proved is that you can't trust anyone with too much power, left, right, or center, because It's a simple matter for a power hungry sociopath to pretend to be one of the "good guys" until they get the power. It's apparently even easier for them to convince people that they deserve the power once they get it, which is a big part of why things are turning out how they are.

Winter Soldier makes a very compelling allegory for this concept. Hunger Games straight up argues that you can't trust the leader of the "good guys", so much so that the Katniss murders her in cold blood to stop her, and she's still considered a hero.

Interesting.
Never seen Hunger Games.
But, everyone knows all Vietnamese were gooks and deserved to die, children included, especially when they finger you. ( Winter Soldier?) Those in charge failed to make some things clear.....ok, sure.

you can thank great depression era communists for:

-EI
-SS
-10 million hired americans during depression
-federal min wage? i forget.
-probably america's peak unionization rate

winter soldier was about wikileaks, ed snowden, manning in part. probably the deep state, and post wwII greasy american activities like supporting nazis. where do you draw the line on capitalist power?

Check it out.
I was thinking that's the excuse they used.

Winter Soldier was a MCU Captain America movie, where S.H.I.E.L.D. (supposed to be the good guys) developed giant air bases with the technology to target and kill specific individuals, meant to be used against terrorists. Turns out Hydra infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. and high level government positions. Thus, the bad guys now had the power to kill millions of targets, simultaneously, and they were in a position to redefine who the terrorists were. That is not that dissimilar to what we see unfolding before our very eyes in the real world. Regardless of the degree to which you believe that to be true, the story still acts as a warning against anyone having too much power.

Is their some other "winter soldier" reference that deals with the Vietnam war? That is another great, real life, example of the bad guys masquerading as good guys. They immorally conscripted people to commit atrocities under the supposed auspices of freedom and liberty, but really it was just so defense contractors could make lots of money.

I'm not sure the best answer for that. I can think of lots of things corporations and businesses do that they shouldn't be able to. But power supports power, the courts are, to some degree, beholden to the poloticians, who are, to a great degree, beholden to the people who help get them elected, not those who actually elect them. So the courts enable the corporations, and the whole system sucks up all the power it can get its hands on.

The best way to start to combat this is for people to realize it's happening, and believe that that's not the way it should be. That knowledge and understanding will allow people to make better decisions that will ultimately undermine the power structure.

corporations control the courts now too. i recall watching a documentary on hbo labor day about corporate money flowing into court elections.
