In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks</p><p></p><p>We go out to a local restaurant/bar with a large outdoor area twice a week. This is in an effort to support them and hope that they stay in business. Besides that they have great food, service, and ambience. They, like every other establishment are required by the State to mask wearing, but only when walking around. All the employees wear them. The mask wearing quite honestly is a joke with people touching, adjusting, lifting them up etc. We abide by the mask wearing rules as we want to support them. Funny thing is one of our favorite bartenders is a 34 year old vegan in great shape. She has expressed to us that she has developed breathing problems from wearing the mask at work, has trouble with sleeping and anxiety. She also has had COVID and recovered. </p><p></p><p>How long will we be "required" to wear masks? Why don't we wear masks for the flu? </p><p></p><p><em>"The CoVID-19 pandemic is about viral transmission. Surgical and cloth masks do nothing to prevent viral transmission. We should all realize by now that face masks have never been shown to prevent or protect against viral transmission.
