Since merit-based justice is based on the distribution of positions and goods according to individual merit, how would that work within the Teamsters? If one driver works harder than another, they are not rewarded with more pay since the contract dictates payrate, not individual performance. Typically, within management of any company, performance at an individuals job dictates what that employee will earn and will determine promotion opportunities. Do politics exist and is their favoritism? For sure - it exists in every organization but at least an individuals performance can be measured and used as a gauge to determine if goals were met, not met or exceeded.

You forgot to add that a "harder working driver" also receives more work for their efforts. (More work & in the end less pay)

However, it usually balances itself out when the driver realizes how ups operates in this socialist type of system. They'll Toss out the anchor and start counting the $ with everyone else.
