Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 3360207" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>I think the Americans who "hate" welfare recipients do so for the most part because many of them struggle to make ends meet and know their tax dollars are going towards people they see at supermarkets with baskets loaded down with good food.  I don't know for sure but I've been told in the past that a number of States will give cash change from EBT cards and that often is used to buy beer, etc.  You want to make it about race but in sheer numbers I think there are more Whites receiving it.  I think I'm like many in saying it's good to have a safety net, just don't make a lifestyle out of it if you're able bodied.  And I get the strong sense that no matter what we say you'll turn it into racial animosity.  Not the case for many of us, certainly the case for many others.</p></blockquote><p></p>
