Any more believable than Rachael Maddow's crocodile tears.... But anyway, freedom is an illusion. So is liberty, and all the other things. We live in society. We have social contracts that at times are more or less enforced. Sometimes wickedly, sometimes benevolent. More often misunderstood. People in this country are "blessed." The vast majority of us are refugees, or more appropriately our ancestors are. They lived in places where the cookie jar was closed off to them and now we are doing the same thing. It's logical. Seemingly ill-willed, but to a default, we live in a confined space with limited resources, wealth, etc. It's very idealistic to invite everyone to the party. The same as the old adage, too many chefs spoil the soup. It'd be much better if other countries were safe, free, and democratic. I think the USA originally intended to spread that message but as the military industrial complex grew, our leaders became corrupted by its power. Capitalism is not the problem. Capitalism is simply selling your wares at a price you deem fair, even if the other side feels it is a steal, they are (in the seller's mind) buying at a fair price. This whole border thing is way overblown and just letting them in is not addressing the real issue, which is violence, corruption, lack of governmental control, etc. They are spanish speeching peoples, why wouldn't they want to move to a safer, more prosperous country that is familiar to them? Is it because those countries don't want them, can't use them? Or is it because they want to take advantage of our welfare system?
