'Everyone knows him:’ Community honors UPS driver for 30 years of service to Port Richmond - SILiive
He grew up in Port Richmond, and the community he’s called home for decades honored him Tuesday night for his 30 years of service as a delivery driver.
The Port Richmond Strong Civic Association and about 50 members of the community honored UPS driver Carlos Acevedo during a ceremony at the Reformed Church on Staten Island on Port Richmond Avenue.
Mario Buonviaggio, the civic association’s vice president, said he grew up knowing Acevedo and the two often traveled together to Port Richmond High School.
“The guy always has a smile, even in 95 degree weather,” Buonviaggio said. “He should be recognized. Everyone in Port Richmond knows him — everyone.”
