You earned your pension for as long as the fund was solvent to make the promised payouts. PBGC would have taken over for insolvent funds.

Last I read they were to get it at the end of this year...

They had to re-file the application that they submitted in April because they are incompetent and can't even fill out paperwork correctly.

The application was re-filed in August and the PBGC has 120 days to approve it. We should hear something before December 10. Most experts think it is all but a given that the application will be approved this time. Supposed to get $35B.

Quite a few of those loan borrowers were defrauded by private universities.
