[QUOTE="av8torntn, post: 700292, member: 8259"] Big problem with your argument here. I'm not sure where to start but I think you have a lack of knowledge of the basic facts. Here is something you may want to consider. Public schools cost 93% more per pupil than private schools. Wow hard to believe you are crying about the cost of private schooling after that. So I will use your argument against you. We should have a free market school system as well as a free market health care system. It would be cheaper and more efficient. People from all over the world come to our private schools just like people from all over the world seek our medical care. If a school (health care provider) were allowed to operate outside government interference they would have to provide quality education(health care) at a fair price or they would be forced out of business by a lack of consumers. This is a basic principal of a free market system. If you charge to much for your education(health care) another provider will enter the market which will either force you to lower prices or offer better goods or services. This is a positive thing on two fronts. The first is parents(patients) will be offered better educational(health care) opportunities. The second is that schools(health care providers) will have to operate efficiently to stay in business. In your world the government just promotes substandard education and health care and props up failing business models with higher taxes and keeps innovation out of the marketplace with increased regulation. I will say if our leaders wanted better health care at a lower price and that goes for education as well they would get completely out of the way.
