Ground pay question for air driver

Our DM is recently cracking down on us air drivers getting ground pay. I'm sure it's just a flavor of the week thing. What if an air driver gets sent an extra pickup with all international ground packages? As far as I can tell those aren't classified along with air packages in the contract despite being premium packages in a way. Any experiences in situations like this?

More likely the Union is giving the DM a hard time over using air drivers out of classification. Need to hire more regular package car drivers.
