If anyone wants to blame anyone for border agent BRIAN TERRYs death, blame should be placed at the feet of the NRA who for YEARS fight against regulations that would have prevented the sale of automatic weapons illegally to cartels. With operation fast and furious, guns have been sold across our borders for years by gun dealers who dont GIVE A CRAP about who gets killed. Just like most gun owners, people who get killed by guns dont really matter because "they" believe they have a right to own guns. Laws have been written in states like ARIZONA that circumvent gun laws and INCREASE the number of automatic weapons being sold to cartels. For instance, gun shows in Arizona have ONE GIANT STUPID LAW in favor of those willing to sell to "straw buyers" who buy automatic weapons that end up with the cartels. Its a really simple premise. At a gun show, if you are a "licensed" gun dealer, then you have to do all the background checks, ID's and waiting periods, BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, if you are an UN LICENSED dealer, you can sell to ANYONE without doing a background check, checking for ID's, or getting a signature for ANY weapon. A "straw buyer" comes in, goes to the MASS of unlicensed gun sellers and buy ANY AUTOMATIC WEAPON THEY WANT, and then walk out into the parking lot of the gun show and sell it to a member of a cartel. Operation "wide reciever" CREATED UNDER GEORGE BUSH was responsible for thousands of guns being sold in this manner in order to track them to cartels. Hundreds of people in mexico were killed with those guns with ZERO prosecutions. The NRA did not like this operation and has spent tons of money trying to shut it down. The NRA FEARS that these types of operations will only lead to FURTHER gun regulations and BANS on assault rifles, and THEY AINT GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN. The last thing the NRA wants is limitations on guns, assault weapons bans or the shutting down of GUN SHOWS on the border or NEAR border towns. They prefer to sell guns near the border no matter WHO GETS KILLED. What do they care? Its all about MONEY and as the largest LOBBYING group for the GUN MAKERS, its in their best interest to rally for the sale of ALL GUNS. The deaths of human beings means NOTHING to the NRA or its members. The confusion of the intention of the NRA is packaged nicely inter an interpretation of personal safety. Its too bad, the NRA's goal is to make the USA as unsafe as possible, a WIN WIN for them. There should be ZERO GUN SHOWS in the border states. Peace TOS
