Historically the sitting president's party loses bigly in the mid terms. Many seats are lost and the opposing party seizes power. Howeve in the 2022 midterms The house is now narrowly controlled by the Republicans by a handful of seats. Trumpism is imploding the party and it will be interesting to see how badly the infighting cripples the Republican's ability to band together. The Senate was expected to turn overwhelmingly Red, ( remember Ted Cruz talking of a Red Tsunami?) and yet the Republicans actually lost badly and the Democrats take full control As far as the Georgia Gubernatorial Race it has no bearing on the midterms. Abrams is a terrible candidate and I cant believe thats the best the Dems could do. I actually voted for both Kemp and Raffensberger as i feel while i dont agree with all of their policies they had the BALLS to tell Trump to pound sand when he tried to get them to throw the election .Unlike 99.999999999% of the other Republicans they didnt cave to Orange Jesus. I admire guts, that got my vote. Alot of us voted Split Ticket . The town you live in is FIRMLY Red,yet there is high crime, high drug use, high incarceration rates,High property taxes, low paying jobs,a very high percentage of people seeking public assistance ( you have seen the many posts about Kemp cards on the local community pages) very low graduation rate .I dont see how being in such a Red county is beneficial
