Message: <blockquote data-quote="The Other Side" data-source="post: 815782" data-attributes="member: 17969">Well, now that the bill in wisconsin was passed through political manuevering, we can at least claim victory in knowing that the "Collective bargaining" rights of the union was the focus of the republican action in WI and not the budget as advertised. It is clear, since all the financial aspects of the bill were stripped away and only collective bargaining left in the legislation that it was a union busting tactic and not a solution to a fiscal crisis. Up next on the republican agenda is another attempt at overturning the fair labor standards act of 1938 and eliminating the federal minimum wage. Further, attacks on social security, medicare, vacations and overtime are on the horizon. It will eventually touch all workers union and non union alike. Peace.</blockquote>
