Lauren Boebert losses it over Twitter ban

The Government cannot take it away from just one social media company and pick and choose who is exempt. It is a broad exemption to any social media company that is not a publisher. They would have to eliminate it for all.

All or none.

Try all you want. You can spin it any way you want. You will never get what you want.
OK, eliminate the exemption for all platforms. Works for me.

Yes.

No.

Sure.

But, at least for the time being, and hopefully for many, many years into the future, the Government cannot tell a private social media company what, or whom, they can or cannot delete from their site.
Until they assign it to a regulatory agency to control them.

Where do I start?

How about here.

Again, show me concerted efforts by Republicans to censor liberals? Not some office asks someone to delete a post they don't like. Talking about organized efforts to keep the other side from getting their message across before an election. Organized effort to keep the other side from showing support for an issue or supporting a particular politician. Organized effort to eliminate all criticism of politicians conservatives support. Organized effort to suppress anything related to a candidate that might keep him from being elected. Do you have a post for that?

Too bad twitters internal files say differently.

Disgruntled former employees who were mad about getting caught censoring conservatives.

They also said former Trump staff also said the same thing. But, we’re getting a little off topic here.

Twitter supports the Democrats and hinders the Republicans. I’m not arguing that.

I’m also not defending Twitter for deleting posts and banning people.

I’m defending Twitters right to do it, as a private company, without the Government intervening.

The problem with that is the government IS interfering.

The Government sticks their nose in everything.

But, they did not force Twitter, a private company, to do anything it did not want to do.

Twitter was more than glad to delete posts and ban people.

We would have an issue if the Government forced Twitter to delete posts. Or conversely, if the Government tried to stop Twitter from deleting posts.

The government didn't force. It was collusion where twitter was eager to do what the government wanted.

As long as it was targeting conservatives.

If the government is trying to silence its critics it's a problem. If Twitter goes before Congress and lies about what they're doing it's a problem. At the very least people should be made aware of Twitter working with the government to control narratives so that people can choose to go elsewhere. If Twitter and other Big Tech companies work to get potential rivals like Parler closed down it's a problem. Conservatives were invited to leave Twitter and come to Parler. Not only was Twitter shutting down conservative voices but it worked with other firms to make sure conservatives didn't have a voice elsewhere. And people wonder why January 6th happened.

Oh yeah and I remember hearing “if you don’t like Twitter start your own” so Parler did, and then the web service shut them down for a bit. L O L kind of hard to start your own. I think even the phone makers were locking them out of their app stores so you can download the app.
