In October 2017 I was let go due to being off a year on medical leave and not returning. Worked for UPS for 11 years. Anyone ever heard of being rehired with the same seniority/benefits/retirement etc you left with?

Wasn’t able to meet their deadline date for coming back to work. They informed me that I had until the 26th of October to return or I would no longer have a job. At that time I wasn’t physically ready.

I’m legit. Had a stroke. My long-term disability was denied and I needed to appeal but the stress of dealing with Aetna wasn’t worth the money. Now of course I regret it but that still wouldn’t have guaranteed my employment

at the time of the discharge, you did nothing to challenge their decision?

No I didn’t do anything. Didn’t have the fight in me was just trying to get healthy. Hindsight is 20/20

HR told me either I return to work or lose my job. They could only guarantee me 12 months off and that’s it.

Why? He didn't exhaust all other options he didn't want to fight at the time, a lawyer at this point seems like a waste of money.
