No that's the big problem. No fireplace. There is a gas(propane) fireplace with direct vent in a fake fireplace but that is an oxymoron in and of itself. So I want to swap that out for a direct vent pellet stove in the same spot.

You might find a pellet insert that could fit. You can also get a pellet furnace or boiler. You got hot air heat?
