Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 6169857" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>You make it sound like it's inevitable that an ICE car will go up in flames.  They almost never do.  Until you solve the charging station numbers issue, and develop fast charging that'll get you a few hundred miles after ten minutes or so of charging, most people won't trust EV's to not leave them stranded.  The smart thing would be to require plug in hybrids, which have a bigger battery than standard hybrids.  Most people in metro areas could run around on just electric but not only have the gas backup but can use it for longer trips.</p></blockquote><p></p>
