Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 3949756" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>Just as I and everyone else paid into it.  You don't see the benefit because of your age.  If the government said we are going to take from those who produce and give to those who don't, with across the board equality being the goal, that would be socialism.  If you spread the risk of being destitute in your senior years across the entire working population that's social insurance.  The biggest critics of it are business owners who want to keep the matching funds for themselves.  Same people who push employees to work with few raises and few if any benefits.  A business owner doesn't have to guarantee a great living, but if you help him have a better life the least he can do is assist your retirement.</p></blockquote><p></p>
