As a college grad, veteran, white male, I experienced white women, black women and men, getting "the job" and not me. The last application I filled out before getting on with UPS was an Aluminum Plant. Employed around 2000 people. The application had a "voluntary "page you could fill out. It had all the DEI boxes to check. By now, what I was going through and why I wasn't getting a job anywhere was obvious and laughable to me.I wrote my first name as Pat,(not my real name) checked every minority box I could. I was a black disabled female. They called me for an interview. Killer. I never went. Doing casual at UPS.</blockquote>
