I don't know if Billy Beer woud be considered a good thing. I had just turned eighteen at the time and I drank it once. I actually have a full six pack of it in my house. My wife was in an antique store one day and bought a six pack for ten bucks. Usually people would punch a hole in the bottom and keep the can. These are still full and the store did not have a license to sell alcohol. I've thought about popping one open to see if it tasted just as bad as it did back in the 70's. I ashamed to say now that I voted for Carter. I had just turned eighteen and he had seemed to be a decent Governor. I remember even/odd days to buy gas due to the OPEC oil embargo. Interest rates were in double digits. He used to tell everybody to turn down the thermostat and wear a sweater. He gave up the Panama Canal that the US built, now the Chinese are building there. And finally the Irani Hostage Crisis that dragged on for over a year. The only highlight was the Camp David Peace Agreement between Egypt and Israel. Carter was a very weak leader, I never voted Democrat for President after him. He seemed to be a better person in his later life. I did help build a Habitat for Humanity House and I admired him for his work there.
