What exactly happens or better yet can someone please explain what overrules what when a ft inside/outside/side side employee is given a discharge, then grieves it the same day and before the week is over they're out on fmla/leave/sdi? Keep in mind they were still on the schedule and were scheduled for the following week as well. Do they postpone the "case" and just continue the grievance when they return or does the union and ups go ahead and have the "meeting" and the employee still gets discharge upon their return. Not sure what the discharge was for but definitely was not any of the cardinal sins.

Thanks in advance 😎

The case will go on. It could be postponed by either side or both sides. Generally, each side gets a postponement.
