TCD being forced to work more than Full Timers. Any recourse?

My wife is currently a TCD, and has several times declined taking a full-time position because she doesn't want to work that many hours, be away from the family, etc. Since peak of 2019 she has been forced to work 12-14 hour days driving, and in a recent phone conference with the center manager and union rep she was told that she's being overworked so the manager can try to minimize his 9.5 greivances and penalties. She has tried to apply for 8's, but was rejected by management, saying she is not elegible to apply. She has tried to tell them a number of times that she is not available on certain days, but they refuse to respect that, and refuse to comunicate with her ahead about what she is going to be doing each day. There have been days where she was told to report for Preload, and then received a txt msg 30 minutes before start time to report for driver start instead. There have also been a number of days where she was forced to drive while full time drivers were given layoff days. She is frequently given routes with splits from other routes that are so far in the red they turn purple (Orion often shows an ETA when she leaves the building of 9:30-10 PM, without breaks). At the same time there are full-timers in the center that frequently are HOME before 6 PM. Any suggestions for what to do? Please, no sarc about part-timers. We are genuinely looking for advice. The Union Rep doesn;t seem to care, we have filed greviances numerous times, and they don't seem to make any difference.

TL;DR - Part-Time Wife being overworked to prevent full-timer 9..5 greviances, what to do?

Work it take the money or quit
Or go full time

Or you can get a job let her stay home...

The only thing you have control over is they have to give 48 hours notice to change her start time.
Nothing you can do about the hours or the routes if it’s an issue she can tell them she doesn’t want to do RTD anymore and go back to the preload.

Wow this is a switch it’s usually the wife whining about hubby doing this or that

if your mr mom just put dinner in the fridge she can zap it when she gets home and don’t forget to clean the kitchen up

I get tired of dinner on a plate in the refrigerator for when I get home, I have resorted to more healthier than normal fast food like waba grill.

My advice for you is tell your wife to start taking breaks by the book and start laying down. Don’t clean bring back work ups will rather pay 9.5 grievances then not clean for the day.

Sorry but that's the job. If she doesn't want those hours tell her to DQ herself and go back to just preload.

I'm so glad we don't have TCD here and what's this about DQ she is not qualifying?
My opinion on how to treat the company: Don't drive for them much unless progression wages are on the table, like a free trial period. There is plenty of inside work to do instead. It's like quitting but they still have to fund your pension. Win/win
