The deductible is what hits us hard in Florida. I have a 5% deductible for hurricane coverage. Take my house for example. When I bought it in 2009 it was less than $100k so if a hurricane hit I paid less than $5k and then the insurance kicked in. Now my house is valued at $350k so now I have to come up with $17,500 before insurance kicks in. That’s a huge cost adjustment for the same house and that is just the deductible not even counting the rise in the premiums.</p></blockquote><p></p>
