While I disagree with you totally about politics, I agree with your take on "Meat" and his lack of life experience. At 17, you think you have the world by the balls when you, in fact, know little about the real life experience you mention. If step-dad is a higher up as Meat claims, then he's probably led a relatively pampered life, and never had to have a real job and make the bills. Like you, I've had plenty of hard, dirty jobs in my life, including FedEx. I would imagine Meat has never had to chain-up an 18-wheeler in a blizzard after already working 11 hours, and ending up with 14 at the side of the road because you're out of hours and have to wait another 3 for a ride back to the ramp. I've had plenty of 60 hour weeks as both an RTD and courier. I've worked hurt, sick, and over hours plenty of times back when I bled Purple. I'll also agree on the superior attitude part. Meat, nor any of his friends, have any experience trying balance work, kids, and maintain some level of quality of life. He sounds like a smart kid who needs a few of life's knocks to see how it really works.
