You were probably smart. A buddy of mine was going to the Oakland club house to do some business and invited me along and I said no. I knew some of them vaguely.Of course can not mention names. Went on the Yuma Prison Run with 15 guys around 1984 or so. 3 of them were Angels but they did not fly colors. Most of the guys were Hispanic . Before we crossed the border we stopped at some guys house and the head guy said store the guns and drugs here because we were not going into Mexico from Yuma with them. About 12 of the guys had guns and drugs. As soon as we crossed the border the Federales on Harleys stopped us and laid down the law. Basically behave ourselves which we did. Most of the riders were older than me, Vietnam vets that did not take any guff from anyone. Since most spoke Spanish they were able to talk to the feds. It was a fun trip. About 7 days total. I had a hard time keeping up since most took pep pills and I did not . Very little sleep but hell of a good time. Wherever we stopped we got a lot of attention. Nice thing about Mexico at that time was beer and steaks were real cheap. All the Angels I ever made friends with were pretty cool . Some were dangerous when drinking and taking pills. The prospects are the worse because they are trying to always impress.
