Tue --> Sat Opt in list

Pardon me for being a :censored2:. Also, I don't follow BrownCafe as much as I should due to a young family, long hours, and college football.

Saturday and possibly Sunday ground is inevitable. I need my company to be at the forefront of change in order to retire.

I would imagine that many drivers would willingly exchange a Saturday for a sure 5th punch and a casual weekday off. So create an opt-in list for Tue-->Sat.

We could use this as a negotiating tool to keep other benefits. Or am I wrong?

You put your family and college football ahead of us? :)

There will be an opt in list.

Sunday ground is NOT gonna happen.

We have Tues - Sat schedule. The schedule is a disaster for the guys who volunteered. Most don't get the day off Monday. Not sure if it's due to peak/pre-peak volume or what.

On Mondays?
No, that's on Saturdays. Mondays haven't been as drastic. They tried to cut too many routes at first, now we just go out "light". As far as your original question, we don't bid routes here, but these are mostly cover drivers that would be forced in on Saturday. The regular drivers are pretty much doing their routes on mondays.

I would make a list for drivers that want to work Saturday as overtime and part time drivers as well (just for Saturday). Have Saturday work as code 5 since it is OT. This way, the weekday planning is not upset. The only problem might be for a few weeks in December but most Drivers still have plenty of hours available.

We have a volunteer list for Saturday work posted each week. If it's your 6th punch it's paid at time and a half, if you haven't got 5 punches in that week you have the right to work first at straight time.

We have a variety of t-s drivers, mostly full time 22.3 and some FT cover jobs. Not many though.

I enjoyed leaving work 2pm Saturdays with 10-11 hours, and having Sat pm/sun/Mon off...did that in 2011-12.

Do they force anyone who did not work all 5 days to come in before using volunteers?
