Turning 65- Moving from Teamster/UPS Pension to Central States Pension

I am turning 65 in December and part of my pension will be paid by Central States instead of the entire pension being paid by the Teamster/UPS Pension plan.

I receive a letter from Central States indicating the my pension will be reduced by an additional $24 because the joint survivor benefit costs more with Central States than it did with UPS/Teamster Plan.

Two Questions:
Has anyone else experienced this reduction?
Did your transition from UPS/Teamster to Central States go smoothly?

I am guessing that the IBT/UPS portion of your total pension benefit would increase 24 dollars to cover the offset.
