Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5939181" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>It's not socialism.  It's social insurance.  Spreading the risk over the entire population.  For some reason you think conservatism is about rugged individualism.  We're no longer an agrarian society.  There are no longer gold fields in California or Alaska to strike off for or wilderness to clear for farms and ranches.  The best most of us can hope for is a halfway decent job but with moving a lot of work overseas what's left isn't paying much in most places.  College kids are coming out in debt with limited opportunities and you can't blame it all on lousy degrees.  Thank God for SS.</p></blockquote><p></p>
