UPS sets shipping deadlines for busy holiday season - KFOX
As you wait for packages to arrive on your doorstep this holiday season, you may want to consider just how busy mail carriers are.
The United Parcel Service is expected to deliver nearly 800 million packages this holiday season, an increase from its record-breaking season last year.
“We had to get a lot of extra packaging materials. We had to get a lot of extra boxes, just for all the packages that were coming in,” said Regina Legarreta, a customer service representative at a local UPS store.
During the 2019 peak holiday season, running Nov. 29 through Dec. 30, UPS expects to deliver an average of 32 million packages per day. That’s a 60% increase over the 20 million delivered on an average, non-peak day.
