UPS's investment in Jarret

I came to realize long ago the decision makers at UPS do not need DJ to win in order to receive the investment return from him in their eyes. Lets' just imagine that he be struck with a spate of bad luck like Waltrip. How many races would he need to not qualify for this season to cause the decision makers to step back and go hmmm. 'Ok, we need him out on the track for the exposure desired from him.' or in their minds would he be just as valuable rubbing elbows and signing photos during the race in the hospitality tent? Yea this is speculative as no one really knows how the season will go, just wondering.
