Message: <blockquote data-quote="vantexan" data-source="post: 5211464" data-attributes="member: 24302"><p>We targeted military installations to begin with.  When it turned into an insurgency we had street battles with combatants.  We didn't target civilian housing beyond those being used to attack us.  And the locals eventually turned to us because they were being terrorized by Al-Qaeda.  There was no fleeing by the masses due to attacking civilians by U.S. forces.  The only mass exodus out of Iraq was by the Christian community which the Muslims had set upon and were killing.</p></blockquote><p></p>
