On a Worker’s Comp injury, after the FCE, designated as medium work, 20 lbs to 50 lbs max and up to 8 hours a day. Not ready to retire yet. Want UPS to create a job for me as per contract. Has anyone heard or have had this happen to them? I am an old yard dog and not ready to be porched.
so im Tuesday-Sat.. get a message Friday afternoon saying I’m working Monday. So I turn a 8hour request in at (7:32pm Friday) for Monday. Is this 24 hour notice?
Why the Teamsters and UPS negotiations are different this time - Louisville Business First
Labor disputes that normally are kept quiet during negotiations are seeing the light of day.
The Teamsters union and United Parcel Service Inc. (NYSE: UPS) are in the midst of negotiating a new national...
Mods: Move to Union Issues if applicable.
I'm the kind of person who gets obsessed with a certain topic and fixates on it—I read everything I can get my hands on, and I mean everything. Lately, I have become really interested in the Teamsters and the history of labor relations between the...
Hi y’all I have just won myself a package car route that I bid on 2 weeks ago. Now that February has begun they will start training a new person on my route. I was told by a union representative that I should have seniority over other utility drivers when I am bidding on routes. He said that I...
I just read briefly over the proposed contract. It appears that the union has decided to push even harder to create full time jobs. I can understand this to an extent.
There are union employees that do not want to work full time. In fact this had been a great resource for people who are...
Am I the only one who caught this proposal? In section 25 they’re asking the company to call back all drivers by 9pm and no one can be disciplined for missed pieces. EVEN in peak!
Could this be the section that causes the strike?
Or are they trolling?
There are 20+ of us being kept on after seasonal for preloading in my hub. If we all have the same senority date, who has most senority?
Everyone seems to be in for the long haul and most hope to drive eventually. I've read through the contract but can't find the answer. Thanks.
So all the seasonal workers get these huge weekly bonuses, must be there every day and on time, so at the end of peak they are looking at an extra $950 or so. Sups say that’s not us it’s the union! My mind I’d boggled! Another one, well they loose seniority and they’re not guaranteed a job, bla...
With the "contract leaks" thread getting way too long I decided to make a quick post gauging what they think starting pay will be like for preloaders following the new contract. I'm hoping on $15/hr with 50c/yr progression. What about y'all?
For those of you who have had a bad peak being forced to work excessive hours do you think there is any hope of the Union fighting for less hours worked in the upcoming contract? This year is nothing short of ridiculous.
Today was the worst day I seen in my career. Had to have been 1000 at the minimum missed in my center before the drivers even hit 14hr curfew just from lib.
Tons of drivers all pulling in right at 14hr with more missed. I'm curious of our centers grand total today. I hit 14... brought back...
Just a reminder since UPS is saying 70 hour rule is in effect till Jan 15th...
9.5 lists starts again Jan 1.
Protection carries over to the new year if you were on the list for less than 5 months heading in to Nov.
90% of our center was over 60 hours for the last 5 days and we are forced...
So here is my story. I started working for UPS in Washington state in October 2015. In August 2017 I make an educational transfer from Washington state to South Carolina. For the first month I was working in surepost and occasionally scanning in unload and helping with DAs at a center that had a...
received one on Saturday.
“You’ve only delivered 30 stops. You’re NOT NEW ANYMORE!”
This was my 3rd Saturday on this blind route. So I drove around angry for the next 7 hours. That’s safe!
So haven't been at UPS quite long enough to see a new contract come through so next August will be my first. Just had a question on when the contract would come into effect, say a pay raise or something about PVDs is introduced in the contract in August of 2018. When exactly would a change go...
make your grievances and predictions here folks
what past year will it most resemble? ez 2014 or balls heavy 2013
will it be a disaster or a success?
what will that even mean for us?
will texas and florida recovery efforts :censored: us?
I've been @ UPS since last peak season as a temp (2016) and got hired on as a perm. Started at $11 and I THINK I'm supposed to get my first pay increase august 1st? But honestly I have no clue because our tiny warehouse never informs us of anything. However I've read on the forums that the new...
