    Driver helper

No this isn't another dumb question like "will I be considered for a driver position" or anything like that......I'm sure I'll still get slammed the same as if it were a dumb question. But I just wanted to say thank you to the drivers out there that make this position fun and exciting. *bring on...

What happens to UPS drivers that get tickets or get in accidents

If the cops pull over a UPS driver for speeding or a driver gets in a car accident and crashes. Does the company pay for it or does the driver have to pay for it while getting fired.

When you got that awful day at work, what goes through your mind to make it better?

As a preloader I could sit here and say you drivers and etc don't have tough days but y'all have to deal with PEOPLE through out your day so I know I don't really have it that bad. I've been in customer service for 7 years I know it sucks. When you get that tough day, what gets you through it?

Full time cover driver not getting paid on time or getting hours?

I am the wife of a UPS driver. My husband worked in the warehouse for almost 2 years until he was offered a drive position. He had 2 options. 1. TCD, not guaranteed 40 hours,$27.00 an hour 2. Full time cover driver, guarenteed 40 hours, starts at $18.75 and on a 4 year raise rate. He will...

    Driver/Driver teams

Any other center doing this? Starting this week instead of using off the street/hub workers we are using drivers as helpers. For me it's the best thing ever. He not only knows the DIAD unlike most helpers, buy also knows my route. So we can destroy a bricked out truck like it's a 9.5...

    Saturday air rate question

I'm currently a qualified part time cover driver for just over a year now. Recently I just started delivering Saturday air roughly 8am to 12:30-1pm, the air rate is obviously considerably different from my ground rate. My question is my supervisor recently had me pick up a couple ups stores...

    Quick question!

    Heard it thru the grapevine...

So in talking with a pretty savvy, seemingly pretty smart center manager, told me he believes the main purpose of Orion is so that if the union decides to strike again, they'll have the software in place to just hire off the streets for half of what they pay us, and then tell the union to take a...

l feel pathetic when the sups send guys to help me with my trucks..(preload)..

I'm thankful, don't get me wrong. They do help me. But I just feel weak. And when the drivers come in and see other preloaders who are guys helping me out it makes me feel :censored:ing pathetic, that I can't do my damn job. I don't want it to be like that. I want to be able to do my own damn trucks...

    Is UPS worth it?

Hello, My wife and I are debating whether or not we can make a job at UPS work or not. The local hub is hiring cover drivers. They said from now until mid-Jan it'll probably be everyday work. After that until June-ish it's a tossup and probably not much work at all. The HR reps said around here...

    On Topic New Driver Hire

Good afternoon. I've resisted posting this question as I realize every center is different, but I would appreciate some insight as to the process of driving for UPS. I attended driving school August 22-26. When I returned to my local center I was told I would receive a call in about two weeks...

Hopeful new hire that failed his road course before it even began :(

Hey all, been on here a few times looking up what to expect and figured I'd post a type of thanks and farewell post. Little backstory. I worked for the USPS for about 4 months until Nov of 2015 when I was unfairly removed by a very bad postmaster. I was in my probationary period which management...

    Headed to Intergrad

Hello, Heading to Intergrad for drivers school. I've been with UPS as a package handler for 2 years but I'm only the second person in my building to be sent to Intergrad. I've read some posts on here about it but most seem to be several years old so I figured I'd start a new one. I know it's a...

I applied for a package handler position at my local UPS center. I got invited to and attended an information session. I was invited back for a tour at 5 in the morning, which I also intended. I was again invited back for an interview. The HR person told me to email her in two weeks if she...
