For those of you who have had a bad peak being forced to work excessive hours do you think there is any hope of the Union fighting for less hours worked in the upcoming contract? This year is nothing short of ridiculous.
Center and helper question. Five hours in the center, followed by 6 hours on a package car.
HR is claiming they are two different jobs, therefore no OT..
They show up on the same paycheck though.
Any thoughts, ideas, arguments before I file a grievance?
Thanks in advance for any real thoughts…
So we had a posted schedule Friday night, start time 1630. Today (Monday) several of us get a text saying start time is now 1645. What's everyone's thoughts on this and what does the contract say?
LoC
Work preload six hours on Saturday, paying us time and a half, which is all Monday work. Today (Monday) we work under four hours.
Please share with us, other dumb decisions by management, during peak at your Customer Center/hub.

Tomorrow, well tonight actually, a crew of us are going in for 6th punch. About half as many drivers on route but 25% of today's pieces. It'll be easy to smash out.
So instead of hiring seasonals who stay and are worth it, they're giving us "special pay" of $12.50, which will be sixth punch...
If I worked 65 hours last week with all of the days being over 8 hours should I be receiving more than 25 hours of overtime since anything over 8 hours is considered overtime?
Local 174 has ceased all member participation in all safetey committees in all of our barns as of today. All employee safety committees have been disbanded. UPS obviously does not care at all for our safety anyway. 70 hours! They can start doing the pcms instead of us doing their job.
It's a...
I am a helper and have been a helper on 3 separate peaks.
I have never missed a shift and I love the job, if there was a full-time helper position I'd be in there like swimwear.
My HUB is saying the week before Christmas will be a 7 day work week and drivers will make triple pay on Christmas...
Forced six days. The union has failed us.
We still, as individuals, control the work.
Walk, don’t run. Hand trucks are for pushing, not pulling. If you need a strap to keep your packages in place, you are overloaded. Hell, you shouldn’t be using a strap to begin with. Utilize crosswalks and...

A preloader in the NA district for reference. Was originally M-friend sort but am currently Tue-Sat sort for peak.
So now that we're in peak season, how does the 6/7 day work week work? Is there overtime or double time hourly pay for coming to work a 6th and 7th day respectively as incentive, or is...
It's that time of year again when the Union disappears and management gets to run wild. Those who have Saturday ground operations will know what I am talking about. I don't need any snarky remarks, save them please. I have a few simple questions.
1) Where in the contract does it state that we...
My first peak season as a preloader is upon me. Can someone explain how OT works? I've heard it's based on weekly hours, and I've also heard it's based on daily hours.
I've only been a PT Supervisor (OMS) since February. I know we're guaranteed 5.5 hrs daily. If I leave for an appointment and come back before my shift ends, do I still get paid for 5:5? Or if I come in late or have to leave early for an appointment? I guess that would make me salaried if I were...
Back again,
I have yet to see this covered in the forums, and I've been itching to ask it.
I know UPS hires seasonal driver helpers off the street, but can a current PH opt to be a driver helper during the peak season?
Or do they only offer it to off the street hires so they don't have to...
