I’m certain you believe it’s that easy. Unfortunately the data doesn’t support that position. I’m also certain you’re too intellectually lazy to look it up. There are a myriad different ways to allocate resources to lower the crime rate. Visible police presence is one very limited tool for crime reduction.

In addition to more police, harsher penalties and mandatory minimum sentencing also lowers the crime rate. The data supports that position. I’m certain you’re too intellectually lazy to inform yourself of those facts though.

Social welfare programs, access to healthcare, access to mental health services, etc. Poor people commit crimes. This isn’t terribly complicated.
