No man....

The carriers(airlines/everyone who flies) all have radar altimeters. They are expensive$$$$$$$. With no real alternative that they don't want to have to buy! What they have works and is proven. They don't want to/shouldn't have to do anything.

RA have been around for decades....5G no. See? Why'd the airlines have to take it up the chute?

The 5G and altimeter frequencies are at least 200MHz apart at all times. They don't overlap. Which is why the carriers were allowed to buy the rights to them via government auction. If you can cite specific instances in which interference was actually demonstrated I'm totally open to it.

After the 737MAX disaster COVID and scores of onboard fist fights and out of control passengers the airlines are working hard to get flight schedules and passenger numbers back to normal. Air crews need access to all available assistance if they want to better ensure passenger safety.

Where does Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg stand on this issue ?
He's caught between 2 very powerful special interests. The telecommunications industry and the airline industry are dependent on one another but what is an airliner supposed to do? Drop a tape measure out the window to see how high they are? And while you wouldn't want to see it happen wouldn't it be poetic justice if a telecoms private jet crashed due to the fact that the pilots couldn't get an accurate reading of how high they were on approach?

It is just a potential problem with planes using older altimeters. They have known about the problem for years so no excuse for the sudden panic.

Classic him, just spewing words and doesn't care if they're right. No chance he attempts to support his statements with trivial things like facts.
