Aetna long term disability

Anyone have trouble with this. Do you have to make cobra payments while waiting for claim approval? HR says call aetna, aetna says call HR. Short term has run out, Aetna said wait til I go to doc next week. Then call them back, isn't that just prolonging the whole thing. Shouldn't I have the paperwork with me when I go.

You should have had the ball rolling, before the short term ran out.

I always tell people a minimum of 30 days in advance.

If short term has run out, perhaps it can be converted to long term disability depending on the timeframe to return to work?

Unfortunately, there is no sort of conversion.


Six months, on short term disability is a long time.

If a medical prognosis, requires longer treatment.... Be prepared.


Otherwise.... it raises a lot of "red flags".
