Woman arrested in arson of Atlanta Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was killed

Deputies have arrested Natalie White, 29, accused of torching the Atlanta Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was gunned down by police.
Natalie White, 29, was apprehended Tuesday in connection to the arson that burned down the fast-food chain’s location during protests on Saturday, June 13, a day after Brooks was killed in its parking lot, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Brooks had referred to White as his “girlfriend” during the June 12 traffic stop that ultimately led to his death, body cam footage shows. White’s lawyer on Tuesday confirmed the two were “close friends” but declined to comment further on their relationship.

White’s apprehension comes on the same day as the Atlanta funeral for Brooks, where he was remembered as a hard-working family man who left behind his wife, five girlfriends, three young daughters and a teenage stepson.

This is why DA howard wanted to charge the officers

Howard said the Atlanta Police Union and former Atlanta City Council member Mary Norwood, a Republican and two-time candidate for mayor, have both endorsed Willis.

Howard has been criticized by Atlanta Police Chief Erika Shields and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers over his decision to charge six police officers for the violent arrest of two Atlanta college students who were tazed and pulled from their car during demonstrations over the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police. Howard, in turn, accused the IBPO of “being out of touch with reality” and engaging in a politically motivated plan to influence Tuesday’s primary in order “to end police prosecutions in Fulton County.”

I look forward to earning each and every vote as we continue the campaign,” Howard said Wednesday. “Unfortunately, Fulton County and Atlanta have now for the time in our histories, joined several urban cities that are seeing police unions taking major roles in the outcome of local political races.”

GBI opens probe of Fulton DA Paul Howard over use of nonprofit funds
Paul Howard is in a hotly contested election race to succeed himself as District Attorney.

Please don't think Paul Howard represents Atlanta ... shameful display of abuse of power and over-charging..
In case y'all missed the good news, POS DA Paul Howard lost in his primary runoff by a 3-1 margin ...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution notes Howard, who had been seeking his seventh term, had been dogged in recent weeks by a number of scandals, including several investigations into his conduct in office. The AJC adds:
"Howard faces federal lawsuits alleging discrimination or sexual harassment by subordinates past and present. The [Georgia Bureau of Investigation] is investigating his use of a nonprofit to funnel almost $200,000 of city of Atlanta funds into his personal bank account.
"Last week, he agreed to pay a $6,500 state ethics fine for failing to disclose his role as CEO of two non-profits, one of which netted him $195,000 in city grant money. Howard was accused of 14 violations, which he admitted to in the consent agreement."

Howard also is facing scrutiny for his handling of the Rayshard Brooks case, where Garrett Rolfe, the now-fired Atlanta police officer shot and killed Brooks on the night of June 12 in a Wendy's restaurant parking lot.
Howard charged Rolfe with felony murder and 10 other counts five days after the shooting. The former officer faces a possible life sentence without parole if convicted.

Critics, including Rep. Doug Collins, R-Ga, who is himself in a tight contest in November for a U.S. Senate seat, have accused Howard of being driven by "political pressure" when his office filed charges against the officers, both of whom are white.
Collins last month formally asked Attorney General William Barr to launch a probe into "the egregious abuse of power" by Howard in the case.

He took his taser , not his gun and the cop shot him in the back as he was running away.
He was there when the other cop got his taser taken, he knew what he had
Bull *.
You cant just shot someone in the back because he is running.
Or is being drunk passed out in your car a felony now?
What fire fight?
Justice will be served up by the DA when these thugs are tried and convicted in a court of law

Some officials are still acting like the Rayshard Brooks incident is still under investigation and the charges against Officer Rolfe might actually go to trial. LOL

Mayor Lance Bottoms is a tool:

Atlanta forced to reinstate policeman charged with killing Black man

"The mayor defended her initial decision to fire Rolfe.

"Given the volatile state of our city and nation last summer, the decision to terminate this officer, after he fatally shot Mr. Brooks in the back, was the right thing to do," she said in a statement."
