I should of stated if the 2023 Contract passes and there are improvements in current members pensions they might have to work till the end of the year to collect the bump in pension benefits.

Are you under the local 177 pension fund? That probably is the misunderstanding.
So many different plans and formulas, no universal standards for pension benefits.
