I really can't see going through the trouble since Fescue and Rye, sprout in 7 days. Maybe KBG, but they are so small, drying is a PITA.

Its so hard to time it just right. You only have a couple of days after it warms up enough before the crabgrass germinates.

Whats annoying is it usually also rains a lot when the weather starts to warm up.

Forsythia is a great marker of local soil temps.

When I was working never had time to deal with yard stuff always paid to have it done

Now that I have the time really starting to get into landscaping and such

BIL and I just went in halves on an old skid loader I can do some serious damage with that bad boy

I used to spend a lot of time on it but had to let things go for a long time when I was working. Now I have the time I'm trying to get it back to looking really nice again.

In fall, turf stores Nitrogen for use in the spring, focusing on root formation. Adding N in the spring causes excessive top growth at the expense of root system. Summer heat later can wreck havoc as a result.
