I have really sandy soil, so my whole property is essentially a giant ant colony. I usually only get them out of the house by attacking them outside. I put those stakes in the ground and it has seemed to work best.

I bought the bait that is in a clear plastic container about the size of a domino. It has a clear liquid in it. Worked wonders.
