You know if I had kids young enough to play football I'd have to think long and hard about it

I was the guy telling my kids to rub some dirt on it if they got hurt
Which is how I was raised.No water during practice but here eat some of these salt pills

Times have changed There's lot of evidence that football causes brain injuries among other things

I've got 4 grand sons. Thier parents have already made it clear they won't be playing football
and Iam ok with this

Teach em how to golf. Can get drunk on the course and free golf.

nfl better globalize fast. I. 15 years there won't be anyone left as fans or players in the USA.

When we were in Ireland the NFL was everywhere on Sunday. We sat in a pub and watched the Pats game. I know it's like that in the UK too.

The parents are so afraid little Junior will hurt himself. Better for him to only play non contact sports. Preferably ones where everyone gets a trophy.

I would say 90% of parents wouldn't let their kids play after reading about him.

Trying to decide whether to let your son play or not? If I had a son, I'd have to think long and hard too. I think team sports are fantastic for children. They help in many ways, ie, physically, boosting self esteem, teaching them teamwork, etc.

That said though, I've watched my daughter suffer from three different concussions. I know schools and teams are much more aware and careful with concussions, but still, you're putting your child's well being in someone else's hands. I don't know....
