You're saying new hires don't learn to 'drive' in 'driving school'?

Why bother?
They stress more on not backing altogether than actually having to handle a tricky back situation that you will face eventually.

They just want to pour the koolaid there then hope the rest will just fall into play.

When I left driving school I had 45 minutes behind the wheel of a Ford Explorer. I had more training learning to park on property than I did operating a package car.

They expect us to teach everything on road. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just makes the training period more difficult for everybody

Does the school for you guys actually teach you proper driving methods, or do some just make it up as they go?

There was a big difference between my NSPT and the sup school (can't think of the actual term).

NSPT was a joke. I had known most of the stuff from my supervisors. Already knew the DIAD and 5 & 10.

When I went for my On Road training, it was a whole different world. There is stuff they do to just make sure you know they take it serious. 5 & 10 had to be written verbatim, miss a period or comma and it's all wrong. Huge focus on methods. Did a few drills a day in a package car. It was honestly one of the best things I've gone through here, I learned a lot.

I'm supposed to do the Integrad version of that at some point, though I found a way to avoid going every time a class has come up. I've heard it's hard as hell, but really good.
