For 90% of the work on the pergola, 2 people are all we needed. There was a couple of times where we had to have a 3rd.

It took 2 days, 3 or so hours a day. It shipped free, freighter delivered it in 2 big, frickin' heavy boxes.

Ron and I are true Teamsters. We never took elementary carpentry. We can drive trucks, drink beers, grill, and eat P*, all while having no hair but look good doing it. It would take me six months to figure out how to build a pergola from scratch, then it would blow over the first storm through.

The driver hand trucked the 2 boxes as far as the gate to my back yard. I busted the boxes open and carried all the pieces and put them under my covered patio. The wood is really pretty light. It's not like pine. I think the description calls it chinese cedar.

The hardest part will be prepping the base.
